Details

If a product is not open, the name, status, and configuration template fields are blank. The hint field prompts you to create a new product or open an existing one. The Dispense Head Template field displays NONE. 
The Display Area       
The display area is the large portion of the window below the status bar. It is within this area that subsequent Product Editor related windows are displayed. These windows fill the entire display area by default, but can be resized to satisfy individual needs and/or preferences. In addition, multiple windows can be displayed at the same time. Refer to the Configuration section of this module for details. 
Product        
Use the Product menu bar heading for the manipulation of the entire product rather than just an element of the product. These options include:

The five most recently opened products are listed below the Print option under the Product menu bar heading. You can open any of these products by simply selecting the product from the list. 
New        
Use the New option to begin the process of creating a product. For procedural information on creating a new product, refer to the Create a Product Using Data Entry section of the Product Tasks module. 
To begin the process of creating a new product:

Select the Product menu bar heading.

Select the New menu option. The New Product dialog box is displayed.

In the Product Name data field, enter a unique product name.

Offline PC only. If programming on the machine, go to step 5.  
Assign a configuration template by selecting a predefined template from the Configuration Template spin button. Use a configuration template to assign the characteristics of a specific machine to the Product Editor on the offline PC. 
At least one configuration template must have been created. Refer to the Machine Configurationmodule for details about creating a configuration template.

Move the cursor to the Board data field.

If the desired board template is in the Boards list box, double-click on that board. Go to step 7. 
If a new board template needs to be created, select the Create Board button. The Board window is displayed. Create and save a new board template. For details, refer to the Board module.

From the New Product dialog box, select OK. Even though component and dispense head data are not yet in the product, the product can now be saved. Refer to the topic titled Save later in this module. 
A park step is automatically generated for a new product. To modify or delete the park step, use the Steps window. 
Open        
Use the Open option to open an existing product. The data associated with the product can then be viewed or edited.
